Troubleshooting

The widget doesn't show, links don't work, pins land in the wrong place.

The toolbar doesn't appear

  • Opened the site directly? That's expected: the widget only starts after signing in. Add #ekhanemark to the address (then reload), or use Open site in the dashboard.
  • Is the script on the page? View the page source and search for w.js.
  • Is the address registered? Online addresses must match exactly, including http/https, www and the port. Localhost addresses work for the team without being added.
  • Is the address in Off mode? Switch it to On or Review.
  • Check the browser console. EkhaneMark logs a line starting with [EkhaneMark] saying why it didn't start.
  • Content Security Policy? Allow https://ekhanemark.com (see Install).

“Review links now need sign-in”

Anonymous review links were retired. In the project's settings, create an invite link under Invite clients; the client signs in and you approve them.

“Your sign-in expired”

Sign-ins on a site last 30 days. Add #ekhanemark to the address and press Sign in again.

A pin is on the wrong element

Usually the page changed a lot, or your copy shows different data. Dashed pins are guesses. Open the feedback, use Re-pin, and click the right element. Adding data-testid to important elements prevents this.

Emails don't arrive

Without SMTP_URL, emails are only written to the server log. Check the log for [mail] lines. With SMTP set, check your provider's sending logs and spam folders.

Screenshots look different from the page

Screenshots are drawn from the page's HTML, so images from other domains that block cross-origin use, videos, and embedded frames (maps, YouTube) can appear blank. The pin and the comment are unaffected.
